AMATEC

We created a new and advanced building material called High-Density Gypsum, which allows us to seamlessly automate the production of houses.

With this technology, AMATEC is able to build much eco-friendlier, cheaper, faster built, and stronger houses!

Problems Facing the Modern-Day Construction Industry

Building-technology innovation has been very minimal in recent decades as we continue to utilize the traditional Big 4:
  1. Сoncrete
  2. Wood
  3. Masonry
  4. Steel
Due to their role in the largest problems facing this industry today, these soon-to-be outdated materials no longer present any large-scale opportunities for innovation.

Housing Crisis

The demand for housing hasn't been satisfied in even the most developed countries. The situation is only getting worse.
Shortage of homes in the US:

Skyrocketing Prices

Prices of the Big 4 materials are on the rise and there is no end to these increases in sight.
The good news is industrially manufactured goods are gradually becoming more affordable.

Declining Labor Productivity

The construction sector has seen the largest drop in labor productivity out of all major industries over the last 20 years.
This is due in large part to a skills shortage in the labor-intensive industry.

Deterioration of Today's Materials

The average lifespan of houses built from today's materials is much lower than it could be.
Experts estimate that more than 50% of all housing stock has complete physical deterioration.

Use of Pollutive and Non-Recyclable Materials

Almost all building materials are non-recyclable with the exception of steel.
All other materials are ultimately disposed of. Additionally, 11% of global CO2 emissions come solely from building material production.

No Modern-Day Solution to Homelessness

The UN does not even include the elimination homelessness in its Sustainable Development Goals because there is no effective modern-day solution for it.

Innovation

The strength of any material critically depends on its density. Given the low density of conventional gypsum (in comparison to materials such as concrete) and unsuccessful attempts to strengthen it, modern-day technology does not permit this material to act as the structural support for buildings.
However, we successfully created a technology that can drastically increase the density of conventional gypsum by 1.5-2 times.
This material can now become stronger than ordinary concrete.
High-density gypsum can easily become a new basic building material and a competitor to the Big-4.

The Superior Investment

High-density gypsum technology has a massive growth potential in the US, where the enormous housing market faces a widespread shortage. High-density gypsum has unique technical characteristics which allow it to outperform the Big 4 materials. This leads to the following advantages of AMATEC technologies:

High-density gypsum requires 20-30 minutes to harden and shortly reaches its handling strength after that.
This material gains strength 10-100 times faster than concrete following production.
Within a mere 12-16 hours, the kit for a 1,300 square foot house can be manufactured on a single line of production.
The house set is assembled on-site within 1-2 days, after which it is ready for moving in.
Gypsum has a mobile casting consistency which allows it to seamlessly fill any mold.
Gypsum has no shrinkage-induced deformations and does not require drying after manufacturing.
High-density gypsum gives rise to a new class of composites for many functional purposes.
High-density gypsum can be aerated to create an array of insulating materials.
Gypsum is one of the most affordable materials with a price of about $40/t.
Increasing the strength of gypsum allows for the production of lightweight, low-cost structures.
High-density gypsum requires the lowest energy consumption during production out of all its peers.
Gypsum processing does not require high temperatures and thus, is compatible with solar heating.

The Historical Application of Gypsum

  • Unbeknownst to many, gypsum was largely used as the main construction material in the former USSR. Hundreds of thousands of such buildings have been built since the 1940s.
  • Towards the end of the twentieth century, there was an inspection led by Russian state-funded institutions to examine 30-60 year-old residential buildings. The applicability of gypsum as the main structural material (under certain conditions) was confirmed.
  • Given that these buildings continue to stand today, it can be concluded that gypsum structures are long-lasting and reliable.
  • Despite it being many years since the collapse of the USSR, those very same gypsum buildings (some of which were built as far back as in the 1940s) continue to stand.

  • Not only does high-density gypsum guarantee the highest strength out of all its competitors, but its weaker version’s (conventional gypsum) 80+ years of withstanding the former USSR's diverse and harsh climates demonstrates that houses made out of HDG are reliable beyond doubt.

    Major Competitive Advantage

Our deep tech startup does not compete with any company, but rather with other technologies. Yet, our AMATEC technologies outperform all of them in every key parameter.
Share of manual labour costs in construction

    Share of Manual Labour Costs
    in Construction

Manual labor is responsible for up to 50% of the cost of building a house.

    Доля ручного труда в промышленности

Share of Manual Labour Costs in Other Industries

To put that into perspective, manual labor is responsible for less than 10% of total costs in industries within the industrial sector and roughly 30% of total costs in the food service industry.

AMATEC technologies can reduce manual labor costs tenfold by increasing the automation of most manufacturing processes.

AMATEC technologies bring on an entire new level of industrial production to the construction industry.

    Sustainability & Impact

We care about our shared future!
We have made a commitment - a vow - that we will only partner with those who value sustainability as much as we do. We will not partner with companies that are destroying our planet.

AMATEC technologies create a Sustainable Future!

The modern-day construction industry does not comply with the principles of Sustainable Development and is responsible for over 17% of all CO2 emissions. Every house that is built with outdated technology degrades our planet.

Recyclable materials are critical for a sustainable future. Yet, only steel can satisfy this condition. All other building materials are eventually disposed of.
Gypsum is remarkably eco-friendly. Its production emits less CO2 than the production of cement by a factor of 10. Such a material is fully recyclable because the gypsum of an old house can be completely reused when building a new one.

The construction of gypsum houses reduces carbon emissions by a factor of 3 to 5 per square foot.
Let's make our world a better place together.
